CHECKING THE TIMING CHAIN AND

TIMING CHAIN GUIDE (INTAKE SIDE)

• timing chain

Damage/stiffness → Replace the timing

chain and camshaft sprockets as a set.

• timing chain guide (intake side)

Damage/wear → Replace.

CHECKING THE OIL PUMP GEARS AND

• oil pump drive gear

• oil pump driven gear

• oil pump drive gear shaft

• oil pump driven gear shaft

Cracks/damage/wear → Replace the defec-

tive part(s).

• relief valve body 1

• relief valve 2

Damage/wear → Replace the defective

CHECKING THE BEARINGS AND OIL

Clean and lubricate the bearings, then

rotate the inner race with your finger.

Rough movement → Replace.

Damage/wear → Replace.
