Paper input handling
The mapping from a Media Source ID to a printer input tray is defined by the logical trays. A
logical tray maps a Media Source ID with either a physical input tray (tray-to-tray mode) or media
(tray-to-media mode).
Tray-to-media mode
In the Settings Editor, the tray-to-media table is available. The table maps a Media Source ID from
the IPDS data stream to a specific media.
Media selection by fully qualified name
Media can be selected by name instead of by tray. In this case, the media must be in the active
transaction setup. The media name must be unique within the media catalogue.
The media defined in the tray-to-media setup is reported to the host as available media. Names
that do not comply to the IPDS naming standard cannot be used in the tray-to-media setup. Also,
media that has a device link profile attached cannot be used, because device links are not
supported in transaction mode.
