3. Remove the two screws securing the rectifier-
regulator to the backing plate and disconnect the
plug. See Figure 8-23.
4. Use the tip of a small screwdriver or similar small
flat tool to bend the locking tang, then remove the
B+ (center lead) from the terminal plug as shown
in Figure 8-24. This will allow the intake manifold
to be removed with the wiring harness intact.

Remove Spark Plugs

1. Remove the spark plug from each cylinder head.
See Figure 8-25.

Remove Valve Covers and Cylinder Heads

1. Remove the four hex flange screws securing each
valve cover. Most valve covers have the screw
hole spacers molded in place. Remove the valve
covers and O-Rings. See Figure 8-26.
