1 Troubleshooting

Problem
Grinder is making a very
loud noise.
Insufficient foam is
produced when the milk is
foamed or milk sprays from
the cappuccino frother.
Coffee only comes out in
drips when it is being
prepared.
Water hardness cannot be
adjusted.

has been filled.

Cause/Result
There are some foreign
bodies in the grinder.
The cappuccino frother is
dirty.
Coffee or pre-ground coffee
has been ground too finely
and is blocking the system.
The CLARIS plus filter
cartridge is activated.
The grinder is not yet
completely filled with
beans.

The water tank float is
trapped.
If the device was exposed to
the cold for a long period of
time, it is disabled from
heating up due to safety
reasons.

Rinse and clean the cappuccino
frother
(see Chapter 7, 'Maintenance –
Cappuccino frother').
Put the grinder on a coarser

setting or use coarser pre-ground
coffee (refer to Chapter 2, 'Preparing
and using for the first time –
Adjusting grinder').

Deactivate the CLARIS plus filter
cartridge.

Prepare a coffee speciality.
Descale the water tank

Warm up the device at room
temperature.
