Shutting Down the Vehicle
If the vehicle has to be stored for an extended period of time, follow the chassis manufacturer's
shutdown and maintenance requirements.
Also:
Park the vehicle on a hard level surface, and apply the parking brake (see Figure 2-18).
1.
Make sure that all moving parts are in their home position (tailgate, arms, hopper, packer, etc.).

Turn off, in sequence, the hydraulic pump (see Figure 2-22), the electrical system, the engine and

the master switch (see Figure 2-19).
Drain all air tanks and water trap.

Prior to Start Up
Before starting the vehicle:
Make sure no system will engage and/or start to operate as you start the engine.
1.
Make sure the shut-off valve on the hydraulic tank is fully open before starting the vehicle

(see Figure 2-21).
