Arms Partly Raised Proximity Switch in Packing Mode
(Commercial Units Only)
Successful completion of this test ensures that the arms will not raise above canopy if the packer is not
in its "home" position.
For this test, proceed as follows:
Fully lower the arms.
1.
Press the Pack button on the control panel.
2.
Stop the packer before it reaches the fully extended position by pressing the Stop button.
3.
Raise the arms.
4.
They should stop above canopy.
If the arms do not stop above canopy, the Arms Partly Raised proximity switch (located on the

right side of the arm tube) may need to be adjusted or replaced. Refer to the Limit and Proximity
Switches section in the Maintenance Manual.
The Arms Up function is disabled if the packer blade is not in its "home" position.

MPORTANT

Arms and Forks Fully Retracted Proximity Switches

Successful completion of this test ensures that the Arms Not Stowed button on the control panel
turns red when the arms and forks are moved away from their parked position.
Caution!
Check for sufficient clearance above the vehicle before operating both the arms and forks.
For this test, proceed as follows:
Lower the arms and forks.
1.
The Arms Not Stowed button on the control panel should become red.
Completely raise the arms without parking the forks.
2.
The Arms Not Stowed button should still be red.
Park the forks.
3.
The Arms Not Stowed button should no longer be red.
If the Arms Not Stowed button on the control panel is still red, the related proximity switches
4.
(one located on the left-hand side fork, the other on the left side of the arm tube) may need to be
adjusted or replaced. Refer to the Limit and Proximity Switches section in the Maintenance
Manual.
