1.23 Microphone and Speaker Setup

If you plan to use audio features on the DVR you will need a microphone and a set of amplified
computer speakers.
>
The microphone input on the back panel of the DVR is a '1/8 inch' phone jack.
>
The microphone input usually has a PINK collar.
>
The speaker output on the back panel of the DVR is a '1/8 inch stereo' phone jack.
>
The speaker output usually has a GREEN collar.
>
(The line input usually has a BLUE collar and is NOT USED)

If you use an amplified or powered microphone, you will still use the PINK microphone input and
adjust your volume levels down.
Once you have your microphone and speakers connected, you will need to
adjust your record and playback volumes. This is done through the Win-
dows 'Control Panel'.

When the Control Panel
appears, double click on the
'Sounds and Multimedia' icon.
Press the 'Windows" key on your keyboard
(between 'Alt' and 'Ctrl' on the lower left) to bring
up the Start Menu.
Use the arrows on the keyboard or use the mouse to
select 'Settings' and then 'Control Panel'.
Click on 'Control Panel' or highlight it with the ar-
row keys and press 'Enter' on the keyboard to bring
up the 'Windows' Control Panel
