CONROD SMALL END I.D.
Using a cali per gauge, measure the con rad small end insdie
diameter.
Service limit : 20 .040 mm (0 .7890 in)
If the conrad sma ll end bo re inside diameter exceeds the
limit. replace conrad.
CON ROD DEFLECTION AND CON ROD
BIG END SIDE CLEARANCE
Wear on the big end of the conrad ca n be estimated by
c hecking the movement of th e small end of the rod . This
method can also check the ext en t of wear on the conrad 's
big end .
Service limit : 3 .0 mm (0 .12 in)

09900· 20606 : Dial gauge (1 / 100 mm)
09900·2 1304 : V· block
Push the big end of the co nrad to one side and measure the
side clearance with a thickness gauge .
Standard : 0 .10 - 0 .55 mm (0 .004 - 0 .022 in)
Service Limit : 1 .0 mm (O .04 in)

Where the limit is exceeded . replace cranksh aft assembly
or reduce the deflec tion and the side clea rance to within the
limit by replacing the worn parts -conrod . big end bearig
and crank pin etc.
CRANKSHAFT RUN OUT
Support the crankshaft with " V" blocks as shown , with the
two end journal s resting on th e blocks,
Position the dial gauge, as shown , and rotate the crankshaft
slow ly to read the runout.
Correct or replac e the crankshaft if the runout is greater than
the limit.
