MIDDLE GEAR
CAUTION:
_
• Never directly press the middle driven
pinion gear end with a hydraulic press,
this will result in damage to the middle
driven pinion gear thread.
• Install a suitable socket 2 on the middle
driven pinion gear end to protect the
thread from damage.
c. Press the middle driven pinion gear end
and remove the bearing housing.

4. Remove:
• middle driven pinion gear bearing retainer
• bearing

a. Attach the folded rag 1.
b. Secure the bearing housing edge in the
vise.
c. Attach the bearing retainer wrench 2.

CAUTION:
_
The middle driven pinion gear bearing
retainer has left-handed threads. To loosen
the retainer, turn it clockwise.
d. Remove the bearing retainer and bearing.
