AC Main Panel

I f t h e i n s t a l l a t i o n w i l l b e p o w e r i n g a w i d e -r a n g e o f a p p l i a n c e s t h r o u g h o u t t h e vehicle,
an AC main panel is often recommended. This is simila r in appearance and f u n c t i o n a s y o u r h o m e ' s
c i r c u i t b r e a k e r p a n e l , p r o v i d i n g a n a d d i t i o n a l l e v e l o f c o n t r o l a n d p r o t e c t i o n f o r t h e
v a r i o u s c i r c u i t s . A l w a y s r e f e r t o e l e c t r i c a l c o d e s f o r s a f e w i r i n g p r a c t i c e s .

Circuit Protection

I f u s i n g a A C m a i n p a n e l f o r d i s t r i b u t i o n , a l w a y s u s e b r e a k e r s t h a t p r o v i d e t h e
c o r r e c t a m p e r e b r a n c h c i r c u i t p r o t e c t i o n i n a c c o r d a n c e w i t h t h e N a t i o n a l E l e c t r i c
Code. The breakers must also be properly rated for the appliances that will be powered.
N O T E : B o t h A C a n d D C d i s c o n n e c t s / o v e r c u r r e n t p r o t e c t i o n m u s t b e p r o v i d e d a s p a r t o f
t h e i n s t a l l a t i o n .

Wire Routing

Conductors that are at risk to physical damage must be protected by conduit, tape, or pla c e d i n a
r a c e w a y . C o n d u c t o r s p a s s i n g t h r o u g h w a l l s , b u l k h e a d s o r o t h e r s t r u c tural members must be
protected to minimize insulation damage such as chafing. D u r i n g t h e i n s t a l l a t i o n , a l w a y s a v o i d
p l a c i n g c o n d u c t o r s n e a r s o u r c e s o f c h a f i n g caused by vibration or constant rubbing.
CAUTION: Always check for existing electrical, plumbing or other areas of potential damage prior to
making cuts in structural surfaces, bulkheads or walls.
