4.12.2 HSPA (GSM) Cellular Modem Card
The HSPA card option is available for use on various GSM based networks. It is
available in either Slot 5, or Slot 6 of the RuggedRouter. This option supports GSM,
GPRS, EDGE, UMTS and WCDMA/HSDPA/HSUPA. Main antenna and Receive
Diversity antenna connections are made to the 50 Ω SMA connectors located on
either side of the front faceplate (see Figure 37). Supported frequency bands are
shown in Table 18. Ensure that the maximum antenna gain is not exceeded for safe
operation of the device.

SIM card access is available on the front faceplate of the HSPA module (see Figure
37). Instructions for installing the SIM are as follows:
Remove power from the unit.
Remove the SIM protective cover marked "HSPA" by unscrewing the two
screws on either side with a #2 Phillips screwdriver.
Insert the SIM with the angled side first. An audible click will indicate that the
SIM is in position.
Slide the latch over the SIM to secure it in place.
Reattach the SIM protective cover.
