2.7 Removing the timing gear case

Remove the timing gear case retaining bolts.
Then, remove the timing gear case.
The front plate is bolted in place separately
from the timing gear case. Do not attempt to
tap away the front plate together with the
timing gear case.

2.8 Measuring the timing gear backlash

Measure the backlash between the gears and use
the
measurements
reassembly.
If any of the measured values exceeds the limit,
replace all gears unless otherwise specified.
