ENGINE - INSPECTION / ADJUSTMENT, RUNNING-IN TRIAL AND PERFORMANCE TEST

1.3 Adjusting the valve clearance

(1)
Loosen the rocker arm nut. Using a thickness
gauge, set the valve clearance to the standard
value by screwing in or out the adjusting screw.

While holding the adjusting screw to prevent it
from turning, tighten the nut.
If the valve clearance is adjusted during engine
overhaul, check the valve clearance again after
rotating the crankshaft a couple of turns.
