CDR (Call Detail Report)
A record produced by the system which contains the details of a call that has
terminated on the system. CDRs include the date and time the call started, the
number making the call, the number receiving the call, and the call duration.
Client/server
A network architecture whereby a machine is designated to serve the needs of
client machines. Application services, such as file storage, network administra-
tion, and security are provided by the server to the client. Client machines are
complete, standalone computers, and servers include mainframes, minicomput-
ers, and personal computers. Client/server computing melds personal computing
with centralized data processing and supports many users simultaneously.
Codecs (coder decoder)
A device used to convert binary signals transmitted on their digital networks to
analog signals converted on their analog networks.
