Generating the ANI
An ANI is an administrative number provided by the system to identify the caller to the
receiver and is not necessarily the originating number. Before the system can generate
an outbound call on a trunk, it must have an ANI. To get the ANI, the system first
checks the SIP URI in the
Identity

,
flag. When this flag is set, those numbers will be used as the ANI.

plan, also has an ANI number field. By entering this information, it is clear how
this account will be presented to the outside world.
