Frame Rat e: The frame rate is used to describe the frequency at which a video
stream is updated is measured in frames per second (fps). If you want more accurate
video then the frame rate should be kept high. Lower the frame rate, lesser the image
details.
Gain Control: When camera produces a quality picture, it needs a sufficient amount
of light to produce a minimum stable picture, in case the light condition reduces to a
certain level, there is insufficient light to the camera to create a quality video picture.
AGC (Automatic gain control) increases the amount of amplification in these
conditions to bring the video signal up to the minimum required level. Besides
increasing picture signal, AGC also helps to reduce noise and picture attenuation.
White Balance: Automatically adjusts color settings to achieve consistent quality in
the white areas and other colors of the image. Normally our eyes compensate for
varying lighting conditions and makes corrections for white and color. A security
camera needs to find a reference point which represents white. It will then make
adjustments to all the other colors based on that white reference point.
Port Mapping/ Port forw arding: Basically used to allow traffic from the Internet
to enter your local network, you will need to forward/ map the ports otherwise the
router will block the request. (Eg: If you are trying to access a particular server
connected in the Local network over the internet, you need to forward the port used
by that server on the router to access it remotely)
