Typical photo process timing chart

The following chart shows the signals used for photo processing. These signals acti-
vate the corresponding device in the following timing sequences. A simple descrip-
tion for these signals follow.

SPVDR (SeParation Vias DRive) Turns the separation charge bias on and off. The duration of

Drives main charger with high voltage bias. This signal is kept
on during the job is processed.
Turns on the eraser (LED array) as soon as the motor begins
revolving (A above).
Turns on the developer bias (on the magnet roller). The duration
of this signal is dependent on the current paper size (B) and
turns off between pages (C).
Turns on the transfer bias. Note that the transfer bias is reverse
(+500V) at the beginning of a print job (D)until the paper is
actually fed onto the transfer roller. This prevents contamina-
tion on the back side of paper by effectively repelling the toner
