Updating the firmware
The system (program) and engine firmware that are stored in a system DIMM and
a flash ROM on the engine controller PWB are upgradable by downloading new
firmware into these devices. Downloading can be made either by directly sending
the new firmware from PC via the parallel interface or using a memory card that
contains the new firmware. The message data for the operator panel display is also
downloadable so that a new message language is appended for the operator panel.
The message data should be downloaded directly from PC.
Format for the firmware files
The file name for the firmware files is coded so that it implies the type, applicable
product, and the version of the file. Refer to the example below:
