If an IPSI is in a port network that is backed up with the Enterprise Survivable

Server (ESS) option you must use static addressing for the ESS to provide
service to the port network
You administer the static IP address for the circuit pack directly through the Ethernet port
connection on the faceplate (top port). See
Figure 11: Connecting the laptop directly to the IPSI
