Introduction
Except for the 9610 IP Telephone, all telephones support Edit Dialing. Edit dialing requires
CM Release 5.2.
Alternate ringing tones can be administered, depending on the value of the new
RINGTONESTYLE system parameter.
For the 9630 and 9640 IP Telephones, certain administered feature buttons can be
displayed on the Phone screen, depending on the value of new system parameter
FBONCASCREEN.
DHCP has been modified to support Option 60, and to increase the maximum DHCP
message size to 1,000 octets from 576.
Telephones will process a received LLDP MED Network Policy TLV.
The telephones support additional cipher suites for WML browser use. With software
Release 3.0, secure HTTPS Web pages can be accessed by the 9600 Series IP
Telephones. Also, system parameter WMLIDLEURI can be set as any HTTPS Web link.
Another new system parameter, OPSTAT2, was added. This new parameter allows the
administrator to override OPSTAT for the specific case of allowing personalized/
customized button labels to be restored from the backup file.
Users can be allowed to log in via a USB device such as a memory stick subject to the
new parameter USBLOGINSTAT that can be set in the settings file. For more information,
see "USB Login Setup" in the Avaya one-X™ Deskphone Edition for 9600 Series IP
Telephones Administrator Guide.
Users can specify one or more .jpg files to display sequentially on the telephone in lieu of
the default (Avaya) or administered (custom) screensavers. The .jpg files must conform to
the screen size applicable to the given telephone, just like custom screensavers. This
digital screensaver feature works only when a USB device with one or more pictures in the
appropriate format is attached to the phone. See "USB Pictures" in the Avaya one-X™
Deskphone Edition for 9600 Series IP Telephones Administrator Guide for more
information.
The softkeys for incoming calls have been enhanced for the case when the user is already
on a call when the incoming call arrives. This enhancement allows the user to deal with
both the new call and the existing call with one softkey press, regardless of the state of the
call server's "auto-hold" feature. This enhancement has no administrative impact.
9600 Series IP Telephones support Processor Ethernet (PE) support for Duplicated Main
Servers. For more information, see "Time to Service (TTS)" in the Avaya one-X™
Deskphone Edition for 9600 Series IP Telephones Administrator Guide
For more information on new system parameters in Release 3.0, see "Table 9: 9600 Series
IP Telephone Customizeable System Parameters" in the Avaya one-X™ Deskphone
Edition for 9600 Series IP Telephones Administrator Guide.
