Select Other Facilities
As an alternative to selecting an application, you can step through a
number of other useful facilities:
• Setup allows you to enter the Setup Mode where you can set
up the printer by means of its built-in keyboard, see Chapter
7, "Setup Mode."
• Print Setup allows you to produce a printout of the printer's
current setup values (test label #5...).
• Testfeed allows you to feed out one label, ticket, tag, or portion
of continuous stock while the printer auto-adjusts its media
feed and label stop/black mark sensor. It is recommended to
perform at least two Testfeeds.
• Test Label allows you to print a series of four test labels
(test labels #1 to #4) in order to test the printout quality and
printhead alignment. The labels are presented in an infi nite
loop, so you can print the series over and over again. Press
<Enter> for each new label.
• Font Scaling is only displayed in Intermec Shell when an
optional Scaleable Fonts Kit is installed. The menu is the fi rst
in an extension to Intermec Shell that allows bitmap fonts
to be generated from scaleable outline fonts in Speedo and
TrueType format. Refer to "Font Scaling" later in this chapter
for further information.
• Ser-Com Reset allows you to reset the serial communication
setup parameters for all serial communication channels to their
respective default values (see Chapter 7).
• Clear RAM Memory is used to erase most of the printer's
RAM memory in order to provide more memory space, if
necessary. Only use the Clear Memory option when you
experience problems with printing using a printer driver and
when you are sure that you do not have any irreplaceable fi les
in the RAM memory!
The Clear RAM Memory option is protected by a password
(491601) to avoid being activated unintentionally.
• Reboot has the same effect as switching off and on the power to
the printer. To exit Intermec Shell without having selected any
application program, use Reboot or restart the printer. Then wait
for the 5 seconds countdown without taking any action, and the
last selected application will be opened.
