Itanium 2™ and processors for Windows, Linux, or HP-UX based servers, the HP portfolio of server
blades supports a variety of application requirements for scale-out architectures. HP offers one-, two-,
and four-processor (dual-core) server blades, including the widest range of performance, and form
factors, and the most processing density and performance of any other portfolio. This portfolio of servers
is designed for 32-bit and 64-bit applications.

Small Form Factor (SFF) Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) or Serial ATA (SATA) hard disk drives. The SB40c
connects directly to the adjacent server blade to provide up to 876GB additional storage capacity to that
blade. For maximum fault tolerance the SB40c uses supports hardware RAID 0, 1, 1+0, 5, and 6
(ADG), using the onboard Smart Array P400 with up to 256MB of battery-backed write cache.

The HP StorageWorks Ultrium 448c Tape Blade is ideal for HP BladeSystem c-Class customers who
need a data protection solution but are not connected into a Storage Area Network (SAN). This tape
blade provides direct attach data protection for the adjacent server and network backup protection for
all other data within the enclosure. The HP Ultrium 448c Tape Blade is the first HP StorageWorks tape
product developed exclusively for the BladeSystem c-Class enclosures. For more information, please visit

HP also offers one of the broadest selections of interconnect fabric options in the industry to provide
network, SAN/network attached storage (NAS), and cluster connectivity.
HP BladeSystem interconnects provide:

Seamless integration of Ethernet, FC, InfiniBand, iSCSI, and SAS fabrics: Standard-based switch

Built-in redundancy: Rear-mounting interconnect modules designed for redundant
interconnections between server blades and switches.
Cable reduction: Interconnect switches provide up to 32-to-1 network cable reductions per server
blade enclosure
