Beforeperforming anytypeof maintenance/service, d isengageall controls
andstop the engine.Wait until all moving partshavecometo acomplete
stop.Remove the keyto preventunintended starting. Alwayswearsafety
glasses duringoperation or while performing any adjustmentsor repairs.

NOTE: C heck the oil levelbeforeeachuseto besurecorrect o il levelismaintained.
Whenaddingoil to the engine,referto viscosity chartbelow.Engine oil capacity
isapproximately 37ounces. D onot over-fill.Use a4-stroke,or anequivalent h igh
detergent, p remiumquality motoroil certifiedto meetor exceed U.S. a utomobile
manufacturer's r equirements f orservice classification SG, S F. M otoroilsclassified
SG, S F will showthisdesignation on thecontainer.
1.
Remove t he oil filler cap/dipstick andwipethe dipstickclean.
2.
Insertthe cap/dipstick intothe oil filler neck,but do not screw it in.
NOTE: Onsomeengines, a threadedscrew capwill bepresent i nstead of
the quarterturn lockingcap.Inthe instance of athreadedoil cap/dipstick,
DONOT screw the cap/dipstick into check.Check t he oil by restingthe cap/
dipstick on the threads, b ut not screwingit in.

Remove t he oil filler cap/dipstick. I flevelislow,slowlyaddoil until oil level

Drainfuelfrom tankbyrunningengineuntil the fuel tank isempty.Be sure
fuel fill capissecure.

Place suitableoil collection container u nderoil drainplug.

Remove o il drainplug.SeeFigure 19.

Tipengineto drainoil intothe container. U sed oil mustbedisposed of ata
propercollection center.
