Confirm that the augerhascompletely stoppedrotatingandshows NOsigns
of motion.Ifthe augershows ANY signs of rotating,immediately returnto
the operator's positionandshutoffthe engine.WaitforALLmovingpartsto
stopbeforere-adjusting the augercontrol.
Testing Drive Control & SpeedSelector Lever
1.
Withthe engineturnedoff, movethespeed selectorleverinto sixth(6)
position.Refer t o Figure 13.

Withthe wheeldrivecontrolreleased, pushthe snowthrowerforward,then
pull it back. T hemachine shouldmovefreely.

Engage the drivecontrolandattemptto movethe machine bothforward
andback,resistance shouldbefelt.

Movethe speed selectorleverintothe fast reverse (R2)positionandrepeat
the previous twosteps.
If youexperienced r esistance rollingthe unit, eitherwhenrepositioning the
speed selectorleverfrom 6to R2or whenattemptingto movethe machine
with thedrivecontrol r eleased, a djustthe drivecontrolimmediately. S ee

Frombeneath the handle, p ull downwardonthe appropriate cableand
unhookthe springfoundonthe endof the cablefrom its respective actuator
bracket. R efer t o Figure 14andFigure 15.

Slide the springupthe cableto expose the cablecoupler t hreadsandlock
nut.Referto Figure 15.

Adjustthe locknut asfollows:If adjustingthedrivecable,threadthe lock
nut outward(downthe coupler) t o lengthenthe cableandallowthe unit to
movefreelywhenthe controlisreleased. T hread the locknut inward(upthe
coupler) t o shortenthe cableto reduce slippage andprevent t he machine
from beingeasilymovedwith the drivecontrol e ngaged.
Donotover-tightenthe cable.Over-tighteningmay preventthe augershaft
from disengagingandcompromisethe safetyof the snowthrower.

Ifadjustingthe augercable,threadthe locknut outwardstowardsend
of threadto lengthenthecableasnecessary t ostop theaugershaftfrom
turningwhenthe controlisreleased.
5.
Securely h ookeachcable's springinto the appropriate holeof the respective
actuatorbracket. B othcables hookinto the rearward-most hole ineach
bracket, a sshownin Figure 14.
6.
Repeat t hewheeldriveandaugercontrol t eststo verifyproperadjustment.
Repeat p revious s tepsif necessary t o attainproperadjustmentofeachcable.
