BASIC OPERATIONS

Adjusting Copy Image Density

To match the type of originals, adjust the image density.
You can increase or decrease Auto/Manual image density with the user
tools. See pages 49, 50 and 54.

Auto image density

If the image density indicator is
lit, the copier automatically con-
trols the image density.
Press the Auto Image Density
key to light the image density
indicator.
Your service representative can
cancel this setting and set the cop-
ier to be in Manual image density
mode even when you select the
center image density indicator.

Manual image density

If you have dark or light origi-
nals, adjust the image density
yourself.
Press the Image Density key.
This changes the density as fol-
lows.
For lighter prints, press the Im-
age Density key until the left-
most density notch or the one
immediately to its light is lit. For
darker prints, press the Image
Density key until the rightmost
density notch or the one imme-
diately to its left is lit.
