5-2 Installing the Operating System

INSTALLING AND SETTING DEVICE DRIVERS

Follow these steps to install and configure the device drivers.
NOTE: You may need an optical disk drive to setup the device driver.
Refer to the User's Guide of optical disk drive for how to use the drive.
(The optical disk drive equipped on Blade Enclosure is also available.)

Installing Internal RAID Controller Driver

Refer to the User's Guide of CPU Blade to install the driver.

PROSet

PROSet is a utility that confirms the network features contained in network driver.
Using PROSet enables the following items:
Confirm detailed information of the adapter.
Diagnosis including loop back test, packet transmission test and so on.
Setup of teaming.
NOTE: All of the operation that related to device driver and Intel®
PROSet must be executed with administrator privileges from the
console connected to the CPU Blade. Operation by [Remote Desktop
Connection] of OS or any other remote management tool is not
supported.
Configuring several network adapters as one team provides the system a tolerant environment on
any trouble and enhances throughput between the switches.
PROSet is necessary to use these features.
Refer to the User's Guide of CPU Blade to install PROSet.
