Disk Array
WebBIOS manages Disk Array by a number beginning with 0. You can see a number of Disk Array
where [DG X] in Physical Drives and Virtual Drives.
Universal RAID Utility manages Disk Array by a number beginning with 1. You can see a number
of Disk Array where [Disk Array] in the property of Logical Drive on RAID Viewer or [RAID
Controller #X Disk Array #Y] in the property of Disk Array on raidcmd.
Physical Drive and Physical Device
WebBIOS manages Physical Drive by two numbers (Slot number and Connector number, beginning
with 0). You can view these numbers shown by [x:x:x] in Physical Drives box. You can view these
numbers on Physical Drives properties.
Universal RAID Utility manages Physical Device by a number beginning with 1 and ID, Enclosure
number, and Slot number. The numbers of Hard Disk Drives connected to the controller are sorted
in ascending order based on ID and assigned number beginning with 1, starting from the smallest
number. The ID is same value of Slot number shown in WebBIOS. Enclosure number and Slot
number are assigned with a number beginning with 1. To view these numbers on Universal RAID
Utility, select properties of the Hard Disk Drive and see [Number] and [ID], [Enclosure], and [Slot]
(RAID Viewer), or [RAID Controller #X Physical Drive #Y] and [ID], [Enclosure], and [Slot]
(raidcmd).
Setting of Priority
WebBIOS displays and sets Rebuild Priority, Patrol Read Priority, and Consistency Check Priority
of RAID Controller by percentage. However, Universal RAID Utility uses three levels as
High/Middle/Low for them.
NOTES:
WebBIOS can set BGI Rate (Background Initialize Priority).
However, Universal RAID Utility cannot set it.
Universal RAID Utility can set Initialization Priority. However,
Internal RAID Controller does not have the function of the setting
of Initialization Priority. Therefore, Universal RAID Utility does not
display [Initialization Priority] in the [Options] tab of RAID Viewer.
In addition, you will fail if you change the Initialization Priority by
raidcmd.
