Configuring the Infrared Settings for FIR
To configure your computer's infrared port (on the right of the computer) for Far In-
frared (FIR) communication follow these steps:
1.
Click Start, and click Control Panel (or point to Settings and click Control
Panel).
2.
Double-click Infrared (Network and Internet Category) icon.
3.
Click Hardware (tab), and click the Properties button.
4.
Click the Change settings button and click Advanced (tab).
5.
Select "Infrared Transceiver A" and change the Value to "HP HSDL-2300/
3600".
6.
Click OK > OK.
7.
Restart the computer if prompted to do so.
You can enable/disable the infrared transceiver in the BIOS (see
Control Sub-Menu (Advanced Menu)" on page 5 -

operates on a "Line of
Sight".
Make sure nothing is
blocking the "Line of
Sight"
between
your
system's
transceiver
and
the
destination's
transceiver.
