Banding in the print

Problem
Did you choose the correct device
profile for the material, printer, and
chosen print quality?
Are print head nozzles misfiring?
Are the pinch wheels set to the
correct force setting for the material
loaded?
Are you printing in a Draft mode?

Smearing or fading in the print

Problem
Are print head nozzles misfiring?
Are the UV bulbs beyond their
recommended life?
Are the lamps set the correct height
for the material loaded?
Are the pinch wheels set to the
correct force setting for the material
loaded?
Is the print head beyond its
recommend service life?
Solution
Choose the correct device
profile.
Print a NozzleJob test
print to check print head
performance. See
"Printing the NozzleJob
test print" on page 101.
Adjust the pinch wheel
force setting for the
material loaded.
Switch to Quality mode
with more passes which
can minimize the
appearance of banding.
Solution
Print a NozzleJob test
print to check print head
performance. Prime and
swab the print heads.
Replace one or both of the
UV lamp cartridges.
Adjust the lamp height.
Adjust the pinch wheel
force setting for the
material loaded.
Replace the print head.
