Troubleshooting
Problems with Flashing the BIOS Under TopTools 2.x
If you cannot flash the BIOS on one or more HP PCs using TopTools 2.x
on a Windows NT server, then it could be that you are using one of the
following:
A management console with HP TopTools 2.x, HP OpenView
•
Network Node Manager for NT, or HP OpenView Professional Suite.
TopTools client version 2.x on the managed PCs. These could be
•
either HP Vectra PCs or HP Kayak PC Workstations. The specific
models support remote BIOS flashing (they are marked with (x) in
the support matrices available on the Electronic Support Center
Web pages under
http://www.hp.com/go/kayaksupport.
The BIOS must support remote BIOS flashing. This is the case for the
•
most recent BIOS packages installed in the HP Vectra PCs and HP
Kayak PC Workstations.
A file server running Windows NT where you are sharing the
•
directory containing the BIOS files.
Information on how to add the name of a shared directory where the
BIOS files reside is provided on page 60.
