This section lists all the DMI groups. Placing a "//" in front of a line,
comments out that line. If there is no "//" in front of a line, that DMI
group is included in the Exclude list. The DMI group is excluded from
any inventories, and will not show up in the HPSMSMIF.MIF file. This
allows you to customize which DMI information is included in
inventories, and reduces the size of the SMS database. For example, if
the information about the Serial Ports is not needed, you could edit
SMSWIN.INI and remove the "//" in front of the line:
//class=DMTF|Serial Ports
The line would then read:
class=DMTF|Serial Ports
HPSMSMIF.MIF would then exclude Serial Port data collected through
DMI, preventing it from being imported into SMS. The database would,
however, still contain the generic SMS serial port data.
