TopTools 3.0 Console, Device Manager and Client PCs
Software requirements:
Windows NT 4.0 Server or Workstation with Service Pack 3.

Windows Internet Explorer 4.01 or later. To check if you have the
•
correct version, go to the Internet Explorer's 'About' box.
Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) for Windows NT 4.0
•
Server or Peer Web Services (PWS) 4.0 for Windows NT 4.0
Workstation.
If you need to upgrade the Windows Internet Explorer, the latest
version can be obtained from:
Networking:
IP host name should match the DNS name on the Management
•
server, if the host is in a Domain (this is recommended).
TCP/IP network stack and SNMP Services.
•
Microsoft IPX/SPX Services (optional)
•
Netware Client Services (optional).
•
Do not use DHCP.
•
The system requirements for the console (use this PC to access
information from client PCs through Windows Internet Explorer) are:
Hardware:
PC with 64 MB of RAM (recommended configuration).
•
800 x 600 x 256 x 32K colors or better display.
•
Network:
One Local Area Network (LAN) card.
•
Software requirements:
Windows Internet Explorer 4.0 or later. To check if you have the
•
correct version, go to the Internet Explorer's 'About' box. It should
display a version of 4.0 or higher.
The browser settings are extremely important on the console. The
browser should be set to exclude a proxy server for local addresses.
This can be checked through:
Connection tab, Advanced button, Exceptions box.
Advanced tab, check that the "Always accept cookies" check box has
been selected.
