Integrating HP Hardware Diagnostics with TopTools for Desktops 3.0 Agent on Client PCs
In this case, as soon as you install and run the local TopTools, you may
use DiagTools to generate a diskette from which you can boot to run
the diagnostics. To generate the diskette, go to DiagTools and press the
button "Diagnose PC".
You may also generate a Diagnostics diskette without using DiagTools.
In this case, please refer to the file README.TXT present under
C:\DMI\HPDIAGS.
If you wish to upgrade to a later version of the Diagnostics software on
this specific client PC, check the HP Electronic Support Center Web
pages under http://www.hp.com/go/vectrasupport
http://www.hp.com/go/kayaksupport
latest version. Please make sure that you choose the "full version" for
integration with TopTools.
The installation takes about ten minutes once you have the appropriate
software on your PC:
1 Run the executable you have downloaded.
2 Read and confirm that you accept the software license.
3 Select C:\DMI\HPDIAGS as the location for the extracted files.
4 Exit the installation program.
You can now create a Diagnostics diskette using either of the
methods outlined above.
In this case, if you attempt to run DiagTools in TopTools, you will see an
error message asking you to contact your reseller. Please disregard this
message. It will be changed in later TopTools versions.
To install the HP Hardware Diagnostics, you should download the
software from the HP Support Web site (at the URL given above) and
follow the steps outlined above.
You can also use the TopTools console to first install or to update this
particular client PC. Refer to
Device Manager or TopTools 2.5 OpenView Consoles"
