BIOS Upgrading in a Multiple Operating System Environment

If you want to perform BIOS upgrades on Windows 95 or Windows NT
client PCs from a management console, you will need to use a file
server, for example, a Windows NT server which contains the BIOS
files. You need to make a modification to the registry of this server, as
described below.
To enable remote access to the BIOS upgrade files, you need to share
the directory containing these files as BIOS, for example. You then
need to map all connections to this directory. You only need to set
access permissions to Read-Only.
Do not use long filenames for directories that contain files for flashing
the BIOS.
It is recommended that you use the user-friendly program REGEDT32,
to perform the changes. To do this, proceed as follows:
1 On the Windows NT file server:
a Click the Start button, then click Run.
b Open: REGEDT32. Then click OK.
2 Navigate through the registry structure:
a Double-click SYSTEM.
b Double-click CurrentControlSet.
c Double-click Services.
d Double-click LanmanServer.
e Double-click Parameters.
f Double-click the item NullSessionShares in the right panel.
g You are now in the Multi-string Editor.
