24. PICK-UP SENSOR
Pick-up test
•
Disconnect the pick-up terminal connector.
•
Measure resistance across the yellow/white and
blue/violet wire terminals with a hand-held tester set to
the 1000 Ω scale: Resistance reading should be
between 190 and 300 Ω.
• If resistance reading is outside the specified range,
change the pick-up.

26. STARTER RELAY
Starter relay test
•
Check relay for correct operation as follows:
•
Feed 12 V to the two male terminals (85 -86).
•
Use a tester (placed in ohmmeter mode) to check
continuity across the other two terminals ( 87 - 30).
Correct reading with live relay: 0 Ω
Correct reading when relay is not fed:∞ Ω
•
If readings are not as specified, change the relay.
