5.5.6.

ADJUSTING THE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER

Factory setting is designed for any riding condition, low or high
speed, with reduced or full load.
However, the suspension can be adjusted to suit usage
conditions.
DANGER
Allow for engine and silencer to cool down
completely before proceeding.
Do not tighten the adjuster nut deeper than 25 mm
(0.98 in.) (distance from beginning of thread, see
figure). Exceeding this limit will cause unexpected
jerkiness whenever hitting the slightest bumps.
Turn the adjuster nut (1) (shock absorber spring preload
adjustment) (see table).
WARNING
Turn the adjuster nut (1) gradually by one turn at a
time.
Road test the vehicle repeatedly until achieving the
ideal adjustment.
