Actions and Questions

Cycle power to the printer and open and
close the top cover.
Does the error still appear?

Use service diagnostics to test the top
cover interlock switch.
Does the switch operate correctly?

Visually inspect the switch for defects,
damage or possible debris which could
prevent the printer for recognizing the top
cover is closed.
Is the switch free from defects?

Check to see if the Top Cover actuator,
located on the Top Cover Inner frame, is
broken or damaged.
Is the actuator damaged or broken?

Close the top cover and verify +34 volts
on the Engine Controller Board at the
COVOPEN Pin 1.

Check for +34 volts on the Engine
Controller Board at the COVOPEN Pin 3.

Verify the Low Voltage Power Supply to
the Power connector on the Engine
Controller Board is supplying +34 volts to
pins 12, 13, and 14.
