Paper Fed from Tray 1

1. The feed motor, rotating in the direction shown, drives the pick and feed rollers,
feeding a sheet of paper from the tray.
2. After the leading edge of the paper comes in contact with the registration entrance
sensor, the paper moves forward a specified distance. When the paper's leading
edge reaches the registration roller assembly (B), the feed motor stops.

The registration motor, rotating in the direction shown, synchronizes with the
paper feed operation when the paper's leading edge touches the registration roller
assembly (A). With this rotation, the registration roller assembly (A) and the
registration clutch are engaged.
4. At this time the feed motor stops rotating. The rollers free-wheel as the remainder
of the sheet of paper is drawn from the tray.

The registration motor moves the paper until the trailing edge passes the transfer
belt entrance sensor.
