The setting of the

IBM 5250
Provides compatibility with software designed to
drive IBM 5250 type alphanumeric terminals. This
emulation can be used for connection to an IBM
AS/400, System/36 or System/38. Note that the ini-
tial display will be an ASCII text screen known as
Network Virtual Terminal mode (NVT mode for
short). Refer to the chapter "IBM 5250 Emulation"
on page 315 for details.
MDI P12\P8
Provides compatibility with software designed to
drive the McDonnell Douglas Prism-12 and Prism-8
terminals. Refer to the chapter "MDIS Prism Emu-
