Appendix B - Troubleshooting

If you are an administrator logging in for the first time, you need to access the KVM-410 in order to give it an IP address

that users can connect to. There are three methods to choose from. In each case, your computer must be on the same

network segment as the KVM-410. If the KVM-410 IP address was set by DHCP, Method 3 will show you what the

DHCP assigned address is.

After you have connected and logged in you can give the KVM-410 its fixed network address in the Network Settings

dialog box (see p. 17). If you want to have the KVM-410 IP address set by DHCP and the address changes, use Method

3 to determine the new address.

Method 1: (For a fixed IP address) When the KVM-410 starts, if it doesn't find a DHCP environment after

30 seconds, it automatically sets its IP address to 192.168.0.60.

1. Set your computer's IP address to 192.168.0.xxx, where xxx represents any number or numbers

between 2 and 253 except 60.

2. Specify the default IP address of the KVM-410 (192.168.0.60) in the URL address box of your

browser.

3. After you connect and log in, assign a fixed IP address for the KVM-410 that is suitable for the network

segment that it resides on.

4. After you log out, be sure to reset your computer's IP address to it's original value.
