Minitower 5 1/4-Inch Device Placement

Install the device into the 5 1/4-inch device slot as follows.
1. Remove the top cover, front panel, and 5 1/4-inch device cage as previously de-
scribed.
2. Slide the rear of the device into the 5 1/4-inch slot. (Be sure that the load/release
button on the diskette drive is on the right when sliding the drive into the
device cage.)
Align the holes on the 5 1/4-inch device with the holes in the device cage.
3. Install the four device screws that were removed with the rails or that come with
the kit, two on each side of the drive cage (see Figure Section 3-40).

MINITOWER 3 1/2-INCH DRIVE INSTALLATION

To install a 3 1/2-inch hard disk drive into the minitower system, the top cover must first be
removed. A 5 1/4-inch hard disk drive must be installed in the 5 1/4-inch device cage.
Instructions for installing a 5 1/4-inch device was provided earlier in this section.
NOTE: When installing 3 1/2-inch hard disk
drives, a 5 1/4-inch hard disk bracket must first
be attached to the 3 1/2-inch hard disk drives.
