IR Data Exchange
The NEC 535M wireless phone is equipped with an InfraRed (IR) data port which enables you to
exchange phonebook entries, picture files, schedule entries, and ToDo entries between wireless
phones or other devices equipped with IR ports.
Positioning the Devices
Open the flip on the wireless phone to a vertical position. Place the sending and receiving
devices so the IR ports face each other with less than 7.87 inches between them.
Do not place anything between the IR ports.
The angle must be within 30 degrees between the two IR ports.
Do not move the wireless phones or device until the data exchange is complete.
The phones may not communicate successfully if they are placed under direct sunlight or
fluorescent light, or close to other InfraRed devices.
While sending and receiving data through IR, the phone is automatically placed out of service,
so calls, Email, and browser access are disabled.
IR Send
You can receive data (Phonebook, Schedule, ToDo task entries, sound, video, or picture files)
from other InfraRed devices or a wireless phone of the same model. Before starting to send
data, the other party must be ready to receive data.
Phonebook Entry
You can only send the phonebook entry stored in the Phone phonebook with Name, Home,
Mobile, Work, Fax, 2 Email addresses and 2 Info information.

Press BOOK until the Phone list displays.
To send an entry from the Phone list, highlight an entry and press MENU (Options Menu)
and 0. The Phone entry is sent through the IR port to the other device.
You may also highlight an entry and press Select, MENU (Options Menu), and 3 to send
the data from the entry details screen.
