Creating, Editing and Sending Messages

SMS

To create and send a SMS message from the Idle screen,

Press Softkey 1 (Message), Softkey 1 (New), and 1 to display the New SMS screen with
<Add new> in the To field highlighted.
Input the recipient's phone number.
Press Select and Softkey 1 (OK) to return to the New SMS screen or press BOOK to
access the last viewed phonebook. Highlight the desired phone number and press Select
to return to the New SMS screen with the selected number placed in the To field.
Input the message text at the Message text editor screen.
Press Softkey 1 (Send) to send the message and save in the Sent folder.

SMS Options Menu

This Options menu applies to the SMS message fields when creating a new SMS message or
editing an existing SMS message. To display the SMS message options menu,

Highlight the desired SMS message field and press MENU (Options Menu).
The following list describes the menu options that display for the SMS.
(1) Add
object.
(2) Preview msg
(3) Delete
(4) Delete all
(5) Save
(6) Phonebook
(7) Resend list
(8) Insert
(9) Address list
Add the new or existing recipient phone number, message, or
Display the message in the message preview screen.
Delete the highlighted recipient, message text, or object.
Deletes all recipients, message text, or objects.
Save the message to the Drafts folder.
Display the phonebook list. Select and add a recipient's number.
Insert a phone number from the redial list.
Display the To text editor screen to enter another recipient.
Displays the recipient list in a full screen (To text editor).
When you are in Abc
(normal text) mode, any
word entered that is not in
the T9 dictionary is added
automatically.
Refer to Text Entry on
page 67.
When you are entering
your message in the text
editor screen, press
Softkey 1 (Mode) to
change the text entry
mode (Abc, T9, and 123).
If you display another
screen or receive a call
while you are editing a
message with more than 1
character entered, the
message is saved
automatically as a draft
message.
Options 8 and 9 are
available only for the To
field of SMS messages.
