Disassembly instructions of the ON, OK bonnet.
The expanding force of the lip ring
WARNING
clamps the sleeve onto the plug.
Both in turn are held in place by frictional forces via the
stem in the stuffing box packing. These can spontaneously
loosen when lifting and fall out. There is a risk of injury
from falling parts.
Do a visual inspection and only disassemble
NOTICE
assemblies where necessary. This does not
include full servicing after 7 years at the latest.
1. Remove the lifting tool if it has not already been done.
2. Loosen the hex nut (3.6) counter clockwise and re-
move the washer (3.8) and the gland follower (3.4).

3. Carefully lower the plug assembly (2.2) out of the bon-
net (3.1).
4. Remove the gasket (1.2).
5. Push the plug assembly (2.2) down out from the sleeve
(2.24).
6. Remove the circlip ring (2.23), ring (2.22), lip ring
(2.12) and driving band (2.21).
7. Use a Packing Driver Tool to remove the packing box
ring (3.2) and packing (3.3) by knocking out from below.
8. Carefully clean the packing chamber of all deposits
using a suitable tool. Do not damage high-quality sur-
faces.
9. Do a visual inspection and only disassemble the plug
assembly (2.2) where necessary see also page 48 - 49
plug / stem screw connection.

10. Reassembly the plug (2.2), lock bushing (2.3) and
stem (2.4) if previously reassembled.

11. Use a standard brass scraper or other suitable tool to
clean the sealing surfaces. Check for corrosion or any
other damage.
