Valtek FlowTop
Disassembly / reassembly instructions of
the valve body.
1. As described on page 2, the FlowTop series is designed
as a modular system.
2. The different body shapes are mutations of a basic
shape and can be summarized as shown on page 20.
3. The most common form is the three-flange body,
which is why the disassembly and reassembly of this
form is described.
4. This also applies to the bonnets, trims and packings,
these are described in the same way below.
5. The different bonnet shapes are mutations of a basic
shape and can be summarized as shown on page 30.
6. The different trim shapes are mutations of a basic
shape and can be summarized as shown on page 44.
7. The different packing shapes are mutations of a basic
shape and can be summarized as shown on page 50.

NOTICE
assemblies where necessary. This does not
include full servicing after 7 years at the latest.
1. Turn the bonnet nuts (1.4) counter clockwise to loosen.
2. Place a Lifting Tool - see 16 Special Tools (Page 62) -
on the stem or bonnet and pull the bonnet assembly
out of the body as one pice.
WARNING
the control valve involves personal physical risk by
falling parts.
Please exercise caution.
Using a Ring Nut is a tried and tested
NOTICE
method up to a nominal diameter of 150
mm or 6". Above DN 150 or NPS 6, Flowserve recommends
attaching the bonnet to the bonnet-thread (suitable Lifting
Tool with M80 x 2) and pulling it out of the body. The plug
with stem should remain in the body due to gravity.
Exercise care with a pressure balanced plug design.
While removing the pressure balanced plug, the re-
tainer may stick to the bonnet then become detached
while lifting the plug and stem out of the valve.
