22. Install and finger tighten the bonnet nuts (1.4) to the
bonnet bolts (1.3).
23. Install the packing box ring (3.2) and the new packing
(3.3).
There are different versions - for details
NOTICE
see 13.5 packing variant (Page 50).
24. Tighten the packing follower with your fingers clock-
wise until resistance can be felt.
25. Tighten the cover, bonnet nuts (1.4) in four steps - 30%,
60%, 100%, and all around 100% - using a crosswise
pattern (See Section 14: Torque Requirements).
Check the plug's freedom of movement
NOTICE
by lifting it approximately ~10 mm (0.4
inch) between tightenings. Loosen the bolted connection
and start again if it proves difficult to move the plug.
26. Finish packing follower (3.4) tightening with a wrench
(See Page 50).
27. Replace the actuator and accessories (See page 54).
28. After reinstalling the control valve in the pipeline,
perform 3 full strokes and check the tightening of the
packing follower and bonnet bolting.
Do not over tighten the packing. Over
NOTICE
tightened packing may produce
higher friction and reduce product service life.
29. Log the maintenance interval and the work performed.
