Disassembly instructions of the VB # A bon-
net design DN 15 - 50, NPS 1/2 - 2.
Do a visual inspection and only disassemble
NOTICE
assemblies where necessary. This does not
include full servicing after 7 years at the latest.
1. Remove the lifting tool if it has not already been done.
2. Loosen the hex nut (3.6) counter clockwise and re-
move the washer (3.8) and the gland follower (3.4).
NOTICE
3. Turn the hex nuts (3.16) counter clockwise to loosen.
4. Remove the head (3.15) and upper head gasket (2.15).
5. Use a Packing Driver Tool to remove the packing box
ring (3.2) and packing (3.3) by knocking out from below.
6. Carefully clean the packing chamber of all deposits us-
ing a suitable tool. Do not damage high-quality surfaces.
7. Lower the plug (2.2) into a three jaw-chuck with soft
brackets and turn the plug from the stem and bonnet
(2.4 / 3.1) counter clockwise to loosen, then move the
bellows seal assembly up and out.
8. Remove the lower head gasket (2.15).
9. Use a standard brass scraper or other suitable tool to
clean the sealing surfaces. Check for corrosion or any
other damage.

10. Lower the plug (2.2) into a three jaw-chuck with soft
brackets.
11. Put a new lock bushing (2.3) into the plug - cone open
at the top - if the one already used can be removed.
12. Place the bonnet (3.1) on the plug, insert a new lower
head gasket (2.15) and carefully lower the bellows
stem (2.4) into the bonnet and finger tighten it to the

plug by turning it clockwise.

Damage sealing surfaces is very likely to
lead to subsequent leaks.
