INSTALL HANDLEBARS,
REAR BRAKE &
SHIFTER LEVER
Remove any packaging on the front of the bike in
order to access the stem and the handlebars. Ensure
the stem is facing forward
(A)
and the forks are the
correct way around. The front brake caliper should be
on the left (non-drive) side of the bike, with the fork
arch facing forward.
Using the 4mm Allen key remove the faceplates
of the stem and put the handlebars in place. Use the
guidelines printed on the handlebars to help position
them centrally and evenly. Check that the brake and
gear cables have a nice flow and are not kinked or
twisted in any way.
Replace the faceplates one at a time by reinserting
the bolts using the 4mm Allen key (C). The stem on
your bike is a split face design. When tightening start
with the top two bolts and then the bottom, ensure the
gap between the faceplates and the stem are even
(D).
Align the bars to your preferred position, then tighten
and torque the bottom bolts to 5-7Nm (E).
