Installation and Operational
Optional Therapies Operating Instructions
In-line Heater
In-line heater requires a bath system that has or will accommodate a factory-plumbed circulating
system with pump. Check order details and see electrical requirementspage. See below for option
details. In-line heaters are designed to maintain bath water temperature. It is not designed to heat
cooled or cold water. The thermostat is pre-set at 104°F.
For Whirlpools
The in-line heater for whirlpools does not have an on/off device, it is active when the main whirlpool pump is engaged. An
indicator light glows on the front of the heater when it is working. Heater requires a dedicated 110 VAC 15 AMP GFCI protected
outlet. Both the pump and in-line heater must be plugged in for system to operate properly.
For Soakers and Airbaths
The in-line heating system for soaking tubs and airbaths includes a heater and circulating pump that is manually
activated with an on/off push button, typically a push button style. This system gently recirculates the bath water
through the in-line heater with negligible disturbance to the water. The Heatsoak system requires a dedicated
110 VAC 20 AMP GFCI protected outlet. Both the pump and in-line heater must be plugged in for system to
operate properly.
Cluster control diverter must be in the "OFF" position before turning on whirlpool, otherwise water from these high-powered
jets is likely to splash outside the bath.⁴
Ozonator
Bath Sanitation System
The pump/motor power cord plugs into the Ozonator piggyback plug, and the piggyback plug plugs into the
control box, which plugs into a 110V GFCI outlet. (See photo to the right)
Ozonator requires circulating pump. Ozonator joins the pump to a system control box via a piggyback plug
shown to the right. Be sure that the system control box is connected to a wall outlet with the proper electrical
requirements for all components. See pg. 6.
Water Level Sensor and Timer
Prevents pump from operating until water level reaches 1" to 2" above highest jet. If water level falls while pump is active, the unit will
automatically shut off. NOTE: MTI's Designer Series whirlpool pumps automatically shut off in 20 minutes.
Micro Jet Cluster Package
Micro jets may be added to any Whirlpool or Ultra Whirlpool in sets of 2. Some Micro Jet Cluster Packages with 4 or more micro jets
include an upgrade to the whirlpool pump size or an additional pump dedicated to the micro jets. Always check order details and
electrical specifications before installing.
IMPORTANT! Cluster control diverter must be in the "OFF" position before turning on whirlpool, otherwise water from these
high-powered jets is likely to splash outside the bath.⁴
Rotate toward "OFF" position to decrease volume and pressure, toward the "ON" to increase pressure. Each set or cluster of
O N
micro jets has a dedicated cluster control knob for adjustment of water volume and pressure.
OFF
⁴ MTI will not be responsible for water damage in areas outside of the tub caused by improper operation.
