1. 1. General Overview of Hydrostride™ General Overview of Hydrostride™
The Hydrostride™ is an underwater hydraulically driven treadmill that adds a smooth and adjustable workout to any
conventional pool under new construction. Research shows that, compared to land-based treadmills, underwater
treadmills allow the end user to burn more calories, enjoy an increased range of motion, and suffer less joint impact.
The Hydrostride attaches directly to your pool wall with the use of a mounting kit. Two hydraulic hoses carrying a non-
food grade, biodegradable hydraulic fluid run between the Hydrostride and remotely located Hydraulic Power Unit,
thus eliminating the need for electricity poolside. The hydraulic hoses that carry the fluid from the power unit to the
Hydrostride are hidden in the pool wall and under the pool deck.
The Hydrostride features a spacious 18-3/4" (48cm) wide belt for walking or running. With its 5-HP motor, the
Hydrostride reaches a top speed of 5.5 mph (8.8 kph). The Hydrostride is controlled using a wireless transmitter that
turns the unit on and off and adjusts the speed. The Endless Pools Fastlane® Pro (Current Unit) can also be installed and
used in conjunction with the Hydrostride to add intensity to the workout.
If installing in a traditional gunite pool, the Hydrostride can sit above the pool floor as shown in Figure 1a or can be
recessed so that the unit sits flush with the pool floor as shown in Figure 1b.
